There are many potential legal consequences in the practice of real estate from the fees being charged, antitrust lawsuits, defaults on contracts and more. Real estate licensees are not able to practice law and so learning how to stay off the thin ice of legal practice is crucial in the role of a real estate licensee Objectives: Upon completion of this course students will be able to: Understand the agent's role when a legal issue arises. Learn about the potential for anti-trust lawsuit implications. Identify recent actions taken against licensees from state regulatory authorities. How fees are established between broker and client. This course is pending approval by the MN Commissioner of Commerce Per the DOC Minnesota Statute 45.30, Subd. 4: Continuing education courses must be attended in their entirety in order to receive credit for the number of approved hours.
